CollectionSpace Community,

Please join me in extending a welcome to the University of California, Merced and the Oakdale Museum and Heritage Center, new implementers and mini-grant recipients. Mini grant funds will support the preliminary phase of a long term project which will eventually include the 13 museums of the Gold Country Historical Museum Alliance, a collective of local museums and history centers along the Sierra Foothills and Central Valley. CollectionSpace will also be used as a teaching tool for the newly developed World Heritage minor at UCM.

The project will be led at UCM by Dr. Nicola Lercari, Assistant Professor of World Heritage and Marieka Arksey, a Ph.D. candidate in World Cultures and History; and by Barbara Torres, President of the Friends of Oakdale Heritage, an all-volunteer group which operates and maintains the Oakdale Museum and Heritage Center.

We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

Best regards,
Megan
