Greetings,

We would like to share some CollectionSpace staff transition news.

Megan Forbes is leaving her role as CollectionSpace Program Manager to take on a new position outside of LYRASIS.  Her last day will be August 12.

As the CollectionSpace Program Manager, Megan has been unflagging in her efforts over the last 15 years to build a strong, web-based, community supported collections management system that enables museums and other organizations to better manage their collections while facilitating wider use and engagement.  Megan was instrumental in the initial creation of CollectionSpace beginning with her work at the Museum of the Moving Image in 2007 and has been at LYRASIS guiding CollectionSpace since 2014.

We appreciate Megan's myriad contributions, but we will especially miss her creativity and insight, her commitment to open source, and her dedication to growing and enhancing CollectionSpace to better serve the museum community.

Jessi Weithman will be joining CollectionSpace as the Program Manager.  Jessi brings a depth of knowledge and firsthand experience in migration, management, and use of collections management systems in museums and public libraries.

Jessi will be familiar to some in the community from her previous experiences implementing CollectionSpace. Jessi served as the Museum and Library Catalog Manager at the Ohio History Connection where she was responsible for implementing their museum, archives and library collection management catalogs including CollectionSpace, Mukurtu, and ArchivesSpace. She authored four successful grant applications including two grants with the National NAGPRA.

Jessi's previous positions include Associate Director of Support Services for the Westerville Public Library and the Information Technology Manager for the Columbus Metropolitan Library. In those positions, she was responsible for the library's web and application development team.  In these positions, she served as a project manager on several large-scale technology projects integrating closely with front-line library staff.

As the new Program Manager, Jessi will provide strategic management and lead day-to-day operations of the program.  Jessi will officially join the CollectionSpace team on Aug 22.

Please join us in welcoming Jessi to her new role in LYRASIS and the CollectionSpace community!
